The IKEA BURKEN JAR is a nice solution to many storage problems. You can use this for food, toiletries, hygiene products, office and craft supplies, laundry supplies, and anything else you can think of. It is made of sturdy glass and has an aluminum lid. The lid is lined with silicone for a snug fit. It is easy to open and the glass part is dishwasher safe. This jar comes in several sizes and can fit in with any style of home decor. I use it for candy, tea, sugar, and cookies. I plan on buying more at my next trip to IKEA for many other home organization projects. They are very stylish and inexpensive. You can buy them at any IKEA store for about $4 each.

I just recently went to a fondue restaurant in Manhattan, New York called Swizz. It was pretty good and inspired me to make my own fondue at home. I spoke with my mom about the overabundance of strawberries in our garden and she told me about Baker’s Microwaveable Dipping Chocolate. You can buy it at the grocery store near the fruit or in the baking aisle near the chocolate. Baker’s Microwaveable Dipping Chocolate is specifically formulated to heat evenly in the microwave, right in the little tub. You can use it to make chocolate covered strawberries, bananas, pretzels, marshmallows, cookies, nuts, pineapple, apple, or whatever else you think sounds good. It is so fast and easy to make. You just heat the container, dip the items, then let them cool on wax paper. This is great for dessert or to give in a gift bag with other food or drink items. I am so excited to see the Valentine’s Day displays out in the stores! There are some really cute items available this season at Target. The Valentine Bull Dog Candy Jar and the Pink Earthenware Bear Cookie Jar are so adorable. Both are made of glazed earthenware which is a type of ceramic. It is recommended that you handwash these items. The Bull Dog Candy Jar costs $12.99 and the Pink Bear Cookie Jar costs $14.99 at Target. These would make a great Valentine’s Day gift. www.target.com

On my last trip to Sally Beauty, I found a display of Palladio makeup. Palladio has a full line of color cosmetics that are enriched with vitamins and minerals. Palladio Herbal Tinted Lip Balm contains moisturizers and UV filters to provide long lasting color and protect your lips. It comes in eight different shades such as Berry, Bronze Pink, Rosey, and Cotton Candy. I chose the Berry color. It is very moisturizing and has a smooth texture.
